Planning Your Morocco Vacation Itinerary A Morocco vacation covers a lot of ground: centuries-old medinas, dramatic mountain and desert scenery, and a culture that blends Berber, Arab, and French influences. Depending on your itinerary, expect narrow medina streets, mint tea in a traditional riad, and possibly a night in the Sahara Desert. Morocco’s main draws are Marrakech’s markets and gardens, the Atlas Mountains, the medieval architecture of Fes, and the coastal town of Essaouira. Most vacation packages combine two or three of these into a single trip. Morocco Vacation Package Morocco’s landscapes vary more than most first-time visitors expect. The Atlas Mountains offer snow-capped peaks and hiking trails, while the Sahara Desert to the south has the golden dunes most people picture, especially at sunset, when a camel trek across them turns the sand orange and pink. The medinas add a different kind of scenery. Marrakech’s old town is a maze of narrow streets, workshops, and marketplaces, where snake charmers and street performers are still part of daily life rather than a show staged for tourists. Top Attractions And Landmarks In Morocco Morocco has no shortage of historical landmarks. Fes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the must-see stops, known for its well-preserved medieval architecture and its medina, home to the Madrasa Bou Inania and the Kairaouine Mosque. Marrakech is the other essential stop. The Jardin Majorelle offers a quiet break from the city’s pace, and the Koutoubia Mosque’s minaret is visible across much of the skyline. Unique Cultural Experiences in Morocco Morocco’s culture draws on Arab, Berber, and European influences. A traditional tea ceremony, mint tea served with music in a riad courtyard, is one of the simplest ways to get a feel for it. Essaouira, on the Atlantic coast, is worth the detour for a different side of Morocco: white-washed buildings, a working fishing port, fresh seafood, and a slower pace than the inland cities. Adventure Activities in Morocco For more active travelers, a desert safari with a night in a Berber camp and a camel trek into the Sahara is the classic option. Taghazout, on the coast, is known for its surf. The waves and water there work for beginners and experienced surfers alike. Moroccan Cuisine And Food Experiences Moroccan food relies on bold spice combinations. Tagine (a slow-cooked stew), couscous, and pastilla (a pastry filled with meat, almonds, and spices) are the dishes most visitors end up trying first. A cooking class is a good way to go deeper into the Morocco Vacation Package experience. Most start with a trip to a local market to pick ingredients, then walk you through making a tagine or a traditional dessert from scratch. Accommodation Options in Morocco For accommodation, a traditional riad, a house built around an interior courtyard, gives the most authentic experience, with tilework, small gardens, and a level of hospitality that’s hard to get in a standard hotel. Morocco also has plenty of higher-end options, from boutique hotels in central Marrakech to beachfront resorts.

Our itinerary took us from Marrakech → Ait Ben Haddou → Dades Valley → Merzouga & the Sahara Desert Camp → Fes → Chefchaouen → Marrakech, and every destination was a highlight in its own way. The Sahara was absolutely magical, and we even added a 4-wheeler (ATV) ride across the dunes — an exhilarating and totally worth-it extra!

The accommodations were absolutely wonderful — Dades Paradise in the Dades Gorges was beautiful and peaceful, and our two nights at Sakura Luxury Desert Camp were simply magical. Sleeping in the Sahara under the stars, enjoying delicious dinners and breakfasts, listening to Berber music around the fire, and waking up to the silence of the dunes were moments we will never forget. Camel trekking and sandboarding in Erg Chebbi were such fun and added to the adventure.
What we appreciated most about this tour was the opportunity to see the real Morocco. It wasn’t just sightseeing — it felt like a genuine cultural journey where we learned how people truly live and preserve their heritage.

A great option for solo travellers - I had an awesome 9 day tour in December with Ismael. He was friendly and professional, providing good company as he drove and also accompanying me in the cities at some points during my tour so that I wasn't alone the entire time.
The riads that I stayed in were cute and cozy, the local guides that the company partners with provided interesting tidbits about their cities. My tour also included several meals, and I was impressed with the quality as sometimes the included meals on these types of tours are lacklustre - but this was not the case on this tour. I particularly enjoyed the meal during my stay in Dades Valley.
The highlight for me was the desert sunset and I wish that I had been able to stay in the desert longer yet as it was peaceful, and as Ismael said - "the desert is where you go to find yourself".Voyager829604
