Desert Tour from Tangier to Marrakech

Just finished the 4 day Sahara tour from Tangier to Marrakesh, through Chefchaouen, Fez, and Marzouga with our PDT driver Omar. Hopefully you're lucky enough to get Omar, but I can imagine the entire PDT team is just as great. We took personalized tours in Chefchaouen, Fez, and Marrakesh, all organized by PDT with local guides born in these cities and I couldn't be more impressed with the stops we made along the way (a tiny, local, hidden away tea shop, medicinal herb shop, tannery, textile shop, bakeries, etc.) and the shop owners in the medinas were welcoming and accommodating. Along the drive from city to city, Omar told us stories, taught us Arabic, and gave bits of history of his country while making stops at picturesque vistas for photos and small collective shops for things like Berber rugs. One of the highlights was the Sahara Desert which is a must see and experience. You should strongly consider PDT for your Moroccan adventure. The owner, Abidene, accommodated all our special requests for the housing needs of 8 people and even arranged for airport pickup and dropoff in Tangier and Marrakesh. Omar was fluent in Arabic, English, and Spanish and learned a few new American 'slang' words during our long drives that I have no doubt he'll be testing out on his next clients. Expect to laugh, be amazed, and enjoy the culture and food of this stunning country and to feel welcomed by the hospitality of the PDT team and the people of Morocco.

My wife and I just did a 8 day tour through Marocco with Private Desert Tours and we had the best experience possible!

We started from Marrakesh and went to Merzouga Desert, Fes, Chefshouan, etc. Everything was perfect. The hotels (Riads and Casas) were amazing, the transportation was very comfortable, we had guides waiting for us in every main city and tourist location, the food was incredible. I extra thanks to our guide and driver Ismail. He made everything even more special. Not only an amazing guide and driver, but great DJ and friend. Look no further! We had an incredible journey with our driver Ismael through traditional Morocco. Marrakech, the Sahara desert up to Fes and Chefchaouen. Ismael listened to our needs. The accommodation and food were great. A special mention for the desert experience and thank you to Said from Camp Sakura. We leave with our heads full of beautiful memories and I would recommend this tour without hesitation.

We did a custom 8 day tour - Marrakech- dades gorge - Sahara dessert - fes - chefchaouen- tangier and it was incredible!

We don’t normally do tours, instead self booking but Morocco seemed like a place we would want some help from a trustworthy guide and that’s exactly what we got.

Abidene was amazing to deal with, a couple of small errors early on due to miscommunication but these were simply and efficiently corrected without any stress on our part. He was hugely accomodating with making the custom tour and also payment.

Our driver Ismail was incredible, a very sweet person who loves animals and the outdoors which resonated with us. He went above and beyond and continuously tried to make our experience something special (including a surprise birthday cake in the dessert). He was kind and considerate and as two female travellers he made us feel safe. His English was great and made the trip easy and stress free. (Also speaks fluent French)

You get huge value for money, being a private tour, it made it so luxurious. There were so many additional perks which aren’t mentioned on the itinerary which helps you get the most authentic cultural experience possible. They ensure you food stops are places where it is safe for westerners to eat.

Overall this was an amazing experience, the desert was an absolute highlight and if I were to do it again I would spend an extra night here. The people we dealt with, Abidene, Ismail and all the local guides they use are some of the nicest people we have met throughout the world. I cannot recommend these guys enough.
