Luxury 3 Day Morocco Tour from Marrakech to Erg Chebbi Sand Dunes

  1. 1 Marrakesh – Dades Set off on an exhilarating morning adventure at 8 o'clock from your hotel or riad in Marrakesh, setting off on a journey to traverse the majestic High Atlas Mountains. As you ascend the Tichka pass, the landscape unfolds before you in all its splendor. Venture off the beaten path to explore the historic Telouet Kasbah, once belonging to the esteemed Lords of the Atlas, the Glaoui family. Despite now standing in ruins, its rich history echoes through the ages, a testament to a bygone era. Continuing along the newly constructed connecting road, revel in the beauty that surrounds you as you make your way to Ait Ben Haddou for a delectable lunch. Here lies the iconic Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site, worth an hour to walk its lanes and rooftops. Following lunch, the journey carries on past Ouarzazate and into the tranquil oasis of Skoura, where ancient kasbahs, though some in disrepair, offer a glimpse into Morocco's storied past amidst verdant palm groves. Meandering through Kela’a M’gouna, the famed Valley of Roses, pause to admire locally crafted cosmetic articles derived from the valley's abundant roses, a testament to the region's natural beauty and cultural heritage. As the day draws to a close, find respite in the serene surroundings of the Dades gorge, where a welcoming guest house awaits, offering a tranquil retreat amidst the rugged beauty of the landscape.
  2. 2 Dades – Merzouga Following a delightful breakfast, seize the opportunity to leisurely stroll along the riverbank, spending time in the serene ambiance of the surroundings, before setting off on the next leg of your journey to Toudgha and its gorges. Lunch awaits, either amidst the dramatic landscapes of the gorges or later at the bivouac set within the Erg Chebbi dunes. En route, traverse the scenic Ziz Valley, passing through the historic towns of Erfoud and Rissani, the ancestral home of the king's family, steeped in regal heritage. In the afternoon, upon arrival at the bivouac, savor a refreshing glass of tea, a traditional gesture of hospitality in these desert lands. Then, prepare for a camel ride through the vast expanse of the Sahara, lasting between one to two hours. Ascend to the summit of the dunes, standing at an impressive 250 meters, and behold the spectacle of the sunset painting the sky in hues of gold and crimson. As twilight descends upon the desert, retreat to the comfort of a nomad tent set at the foot of the dunes. Savor a sumptuous dinner beneath the star-studded canopy of the desert sky, embracing the tranquility and atmosphere of the Sahara.
  3. 3 Merzouga – Marrakesh Awake with the first light of dawn and witness the spectacle of the sunrise, as the dunes come alive with lively hues and dancing shadows, creating a panorama. Set off on a westward journey back towards the Dra’a Valley, tracing the length of the majestic Saghro mountains. Pass through the scenic villages of Tazzarine, immortalized in the film 'Babel', and N’Qob, where a scenic lunch overlooking the mountains awaits. In the afternoon, venture onwards to Tanasikht, where the verdant Dra’a Valley unfolds before you, adorned with towering palm trees and ancient kasbahs steeped in history. Follow the ancient caravan route to Agdez, passing by the revered Kasbah Tamnougalte, the oldest kasbah in the valley. As the day draws to a close, bid farewell to the tranquil beauty of the Dra’a Valley as you journey back to Marrakesh, traversing the High Atlas once more. Arrive back in Marrakesh by late afternoon, with cherished memories of an extraordinary journey through Morocco's diverse landscapes and rich cultural heritage.
