What makes a luxury Morocco tour

Every tour we run is private, so the luxury tours do not buy privacy. They change what surrounds the route:

• The camp: a boutique desert camp with private tents, an en-suite bathroom, a real bed and linen
• The vehicle: a comfortable air-conditioned 4x4 for the long desert roads
• The hotels: boutique riads and kasbahs for the other nights
• The dinners: a full dinner served at camp
• The details: the same driver-guide for the whole trip, pickup at your riad or the airport, and stops you can add, such as Chefchaouen, Fes or a day in the Atlas

Luxury tours of 3 to 4 days cost €467 to €890 per person; the lower price is for groups of more than 6, the higher one for 2 people. Any route can be changed, or built around your own dates.

A night in a luxury desert camp

The camel trek reaches camp at sunset. A luxury tent has a real bed instead of a mattress on the floor, its own bathroom with hot water, and dinner is served course by course. It is still the desert: sand gets everywhere, and Wi-Fi is slow or absent.

Best time for a luxury Sahara trip

October to November and March to April are the most comfortable months, with daytime highs around 24 to 30°C at Merzouga. July often reaches 43°C, when an air-conditioned vehicle and a shaded camp matter most. Winter nights can drop close to freezing after a mild day. Popular camps fill up in the spring and autumn, so book a few weeks ahead for those months.

Beyond the desert

What is included in a luxury desert camp? A private tent with its own bathroom and a real bed, dinner and breakfast, and the camel trek to and from camp. Flights, alcohol and travel insurance are not included; each tour page lists the details.

Is the extra cost worth it? It depends on what you value. Privacy is the same on every tour; the luxury tours add camp comfort, the hotels and the dinners.
