## Itinerary

### Day 1 · Marrakech to the Dades Gorges via Ouarzazate & Skoura, 310 KM | 5–6 Hours Drive

Pick up from your hotel/riad in Marrakech and travel towards to the verdant valley of Dades Gorge. Drive through the High Atlas Mountains and over the Tizi'N tichka Pass at 2.260m, which offers spectacular panoramic views of mountains, valleys and colorful Berber villages. Travel south to Ouarzazate, also known as the ‘Hollywood of Africa’ for its Atlas Film Studios where several blockbuster movies were shot. Continue south towards Skoura palm grove where nearby we will explore kashbat amridil and Kelaa Mgouna, the town of roses, and reach the Dades Gorges passing through colorful Berber villages. Dine and stay overnight at a Hotel.

### Day 2 · Dades Gorges to Merzouga via Tinghir & Todra Gorge, 270 KM | 4–5 Hours Drive

After breakfast, the trip continues a short distance to Tinghir and the very different Toudgha gorges where you can take a short walk to appreciate the steep sides to the gorge and the narrow expanse of the sky above. From there, you continue to the Chebbi dunes via Tinjdad, and the Oasis of Tafilalet near Erfoud, famous for its Date Festival. Between Tinjdad and Erfoud, you can stop to go down into the fascinating underground water cannels deep below the earth, always cool and preventing the evaporation of this source of irrigation. In Erfoud itself, you can stop to see the workings of thousands of fossils made into all sorts of artefacts. Lunch will be along the way. Then you will take a tow hours drive to Merzoga toward the camp with camels crossing the dunes. Dinner and a night’s sleep are in The Erg Chebbi Luxury Desert Camp.

### Day 3 · Merzouga to the Draa Valley via Tazzarine & N'kob, 330 KM | 6 Hours Drive

Wake up early enough and you will get the chance to watch the spectacle of the sunrise, when the color of the dunes and the play of shadows are an awesome sight. The itinerary continues to the Draa Valley, via the village of Tazzarine (featured in the film Babel), and on to NQob for lunch. In the afternoon the journey takes us to Tansikht to drive along the ancient caravan route and discover the real Draa Valley with its huge palm trees and ancient villages. At Agdez, at the head of the Draa Valley, there will be a visit to Kasbah Tamnougalte, Dinner and a night sleep are in the Kasbah.

### Day 4 · Draa Valley to Marrakech via Ait Ben Haddou, 270 KM | 5–6 Hours Drive

After breakfast, passing by the ANTI ATLAS (1660 m), We head to the UNESCO-listed Aït Benhaddou kasbah the fortified ksar with its beautiful Kasbahs. Ait Benhaddou has served as a natural scenery for many movie producers. Crossing the river to the other side to discover The ksar. We leave the main road and take a side one the telouat kasbah which belonged to the Lords of the Atlas, the Glaoui family, and which now stands in ruins, and get back to Marrakech via the high Atlas Mountains.

### Is this a private tour or a group tour?

It is a private tour. Only your own party travels in the vehicle with your driver-guide, there are no fixed departure dates, and no other travelers join along the way. Every tour on this site runs this way.

### How long is this tour, and where does it start and end?

It takes 4 days. Pickup on day 1 is at your hotel, riad or the airport in Marrakech. On the last day you are dropped back at your hotel or the airport in Marrakech. Our driver meets you at the pickup point between the departure time and 30 minutes after it.

### How much does this tour cost?

The price is per person and depends on the size of your group: EUR 699 for 1 or 2 people, EUR 629 for 3 or 4, EUR 594 for 5 or 6, and EUR 573 for 7 or more. A solo traveller pays the 2-person price and children count as full travellers. A 30% deposit confirms the booking; send us your dates and we confirm within 24 hours.

### What is the cancellation policy?

Cancel more than 50 days before the departure date and you get a full refund. Cancellations less than 50 days before departure, and no-shows, are not refunded. Tickets for events or attractions and airport transfers are non-refundable. The full booking terms are on our Terms and Conditions page.

### How fit do I need to be for this tour?

Most days are spent in a private vehicle, with stops for short walks in kasbahs, gorges and villages. The camel ride to the desert camp takes about one to two hours; if you would rather not ride, tell us when booking. Tell us about any mobility, dietary or medical needs in writing before you confirm and we plan the days around them.
